John, another truth about trafficking is that it can take survivors years to overcome the trauma they experience, even with the support you help provide. Kashi* knows all too well. Trafficked and sold at the age of 5, Kashi grew up enslaved by a wealthy family.
Then, when she turned 16, the family sold Kashi a second time to a brothel, where she was sold for sex many times a day.

Kashi endured abuse for months until IJM and local authorities arrived and rescued Kashi from the brothel. Her road to recovery was long but she is now thriving in freedom.
