The Trump Administration is trying to quietly kill crucial animal welfare
protections.
The Organic Animal Welfare Rule guarantees standards for living conditions of
chickens and other farm animals. It was on track to be implemented. But the USDA
withdrew it. This could lead to animals’ range of motion and daily lives being
drastically impacted.
Chickens could be at risk if you don’t act now to push back on the USDA’s
decision.
Tell the USDA: Don’t reverse protections for animals on organic farms!

The majority of organic farmers already allow access to the outdoors and
adequate living space for their animals.
The Organic Animal Welfare Rule codifies and guarantees these protections on all
organic farms. However, the Trump Administration is standing in the way of
implementing this common-sense rule.
The USDA is caving to Big Ag's interests by making it easier for mega-sized
operations to try to get the lion’s share of organic profits without living up
to what it means to be organic. Meanwhile, animals’ well-being and organic
farmers’ credibility are hanging in the balance.

The Organic Animal Welfare Rule is overwhelmingly supported by organic farmers,
consumers like you, and animal advocates. It sets the first comprehensive,
federal on-farm standards for the wellbeing of chickens and livestock.
The USDA needs to hear the public outcry begging for it to put animals on
organic farms ahead of Big Ag’s profits.
