North Carolina judge denies Republicans’ request to toss 60,000 ballots
In a victory for voters, a North Carolina court rejected the Republican National Committee’s request to toss out 60,000 ballots cast in statewide races last November. The GOP claimed these voters did not provide the required ID when registering to vote.
This is a separate lawsuit from North Carolina Supreme Court candidate Jefferson Griffin's (R) bid to reject 60,000 ballots in that race. However, both lawsuits aim to disenfranchise a large number of voters based on allegations of eligibility and ID issues.
SCOTUS declines to hear GOP anti-voting cases in 2025

6th Circuit to hear case on Tennessee felony reenfranchisement system
The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled to hear oral argument tomorrow in a lawsuit challenging Tennessee’s method for restoring voting rights to individuals with prior felony convictions. Civil rights groups alleged the policy is “unequal, inaccessible, opaque, and error-ridden.”
