Donald Trump is at it again with his disastrous cabinet nominations — this time, he’s trying to put a fox in charge of the henhouse.

His nominee for IRS Commissioner? Former Congressman Billy Long, who once tried to abolish the IRS entirely and replace income taxes with a crushing 30% national sales tax. He’s shown his hand — he’s ready to line his own pockets and help out his billionaire friends while working families struggle under the burden of rising costs.

This nomination is a direct attack on the progress the IRS has made under Commissioner Danny Werfel, who’s been cracking down on wealthy tax cheats, recovering over $1 billion from the ultra-rich, and launched a free, user-friendly online tax filing system that’s saved Americans millions.

Billy Long’s track record makes it clear he’s unfit for this role. After leaving office, he profited from a fraud-plagued industry and exploited the Employee Retention Tax Credit.
