PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITIES FROM PREVENTABLE MIGRANT CRIME

Image

America remembers the tragic death of Laken Riley, the 22-year-old nursing student from Georgia who was murdered by Jose Ibarra in 2024. Besides entering the country illegally, Ibarra was arrested several times and released before killing Riley. This evil act, like many other despicable crimes perpetrated by criminal illegal aliens, was preventable with proper border security.

To ensure a tragedy like this never happens again, I voted for H.R. 29, the Laken Riley Act. This commonsense bill requires the Department of Homeland Security to detain and deport illegal aliens who commit theft-related crimes. This was the first bill to pass the 119th Congress, underscoring our commitment to secure the border and put the safety of the American people first. Click here to learn more.

STANDING UP FOR ISRAEL

Image

In November 2024, International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan had the audacity to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes in Gaza. These charges are as offensive as they are hypocritical. Congress must stand resolutely with Israel and hold accountable those responsible for the court’s actions. That's why I voted for H.R. 23, the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, to impose sanctions on the ICC or any foreign actor that aids efforts to detain, arrest or prosecute protected persons of the U.S. and its allies, including Netanyahu and Gallant.
