Hello John,
Alma here, communications manager and public lands lover with Stewardship Utah. A few months ago I emailed you about Utah’s attempt to sue the federal government for state control over 18.5 million acres of federal lands here in Utah- and today the Supreme Court rejected that lawsuit!
These are lands that not only Utahns value, but all Americans love. People travel across the world to see the beauty that Utah has to offer, to play in our wild and scenic spaces, and we are thrilled that the US Supreme Court has affirmed the power of the federal government to manage the lands that belong to all Americans.
We know that this work is not over. As we gear up for the incoming transition of power at the federal level and the chaos of the legislative session, we are prepared to join the rest of the conservation and outdoorist communities in protecting these places from attacks by both the state and federal governments.
