TELL CONGRESS: The GOP has been trying to defund public media like NPR for
decades. Now, Elon Musk could finally help them succeed. We can’t let that
happen. Sign the petition: Don’t let Musk slash funding to NPR!

Hi,

The New York Times reports that Elon Musk is “gunning” for public media
like NPR.^1

Republicans have tried to gut National Public Radio for decades. Trump
even tried to slash funding in his first term. But now, with Musk leading
the charge on massive cuts and Trump’s war on journalism at a fever pitch,
NPR is under serious threat.

Trump, Elon Musk, and GOP Speaker Mike Johnson are all on the same page
about gutting NPR funding — a scary prospect with Republicans soon to be
in control of the House, Senate, and White House.

They want to destroy a public service so private corporations and CEOs can
take over even more of the media world, and rake in even greater profits.
They know that an informed public with access to trusted journalism is a
powerful defense against the manipulation, disinformation, and propaganda
they’re pushing.

Our lawmakers must stand up for public media and against the effort to
undermine journalism.
