Under the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, the SMART Office assists jurisdictions with developing and enhancing programs designed to implement the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA). The FY25 Maintenance and Operation of the Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW.gov) funding opportunity will support a successful applicant to assist jurisdictions in making sex offender registration information available through NSOPW.gov and provide related technology tools to assist jurisdictions with registering and tracking sex offenders, share information about registered sex offenders with other jurisdictions, and provide community notification and information to the public about registered sex offenders. Technology tools and related training and technical assistance are provided to all SORNA jurisdictions.

Since 2008, Congress has specifically appropriated funds for NSOPW.gov. The website links public sex offender registries from the states, District of Columbia, U.S. territories and Tribes, and collates data into one comprehensive national sex offender public registry website to notify and protect the public from sex offenders.

The SMART Office will award a grant of approximately $1,000,000, with a 36-month period of performance starting October 1, 2025.

*Award Eligibility:* Nonprofit, for-profit organizations, and small businesses that have demonstrated significant experience in website development and management, web services, service-oriented architecture, and distributed information sharing systems; experience providing service to criminal justice-related users, working with law enforcement data and maintaining security protocols; and providing specialized training and technical assistance to states, Tribes and U.S. territories participating in SORNA information sharing.
