Hi—
The Consumer Electronics Show—well regarded as the most powerful tech event in the world—just took place last week in Las Vegas.
And it gave Volvo Group's CEO Martin Lundstedt quite the stage to wow the audience with a vision of clean, cutting-edge technology for the trucks of the future: No fossil fuels, no emissions—just pure innovation.
What Martin did not say is that Volvo Group North America, along with other truck manufacturers, has been delaying the adoption of the technologies they are promising in the U.S.
Here's what they have been doing: As recently as 2024, Volvo lobbied to weaken emissions standards that could shift the market to make electric trucks more accessible, scared dealers out of supporting these same rules, and poured money into new plants for diesel trucks.
Americans shouldn’t be forced to deal with diesel fumes, polluted roads, and avoidable health crises when the technology for truly clean trucks is already here and even Volvo is accelerating electric truck deployment overseas. We shouldn't be left behind with bad air. That's why we're joining our friends at Idle Giants to flood Martin with letters on LinkedIn demanding he back his words with action and accelerate a just transition to electric trucks ASAP.
