Burrito Brigade Organizing Meeting!

Our friends at Burrito Brigade Mutual Aid have been doing amazing work feeding free breakfast to dozens every Sunday morning, along with distributing sleeping bags and other cold-weather essentials to the unhoused. If you would like to help, please consider joining them for a planning meeting this Saturday, 1/18, at 12:45pm at La Farge Library.

You can also contact Burrito Brigade at [email protected]. If you would like to pitch in for resources, you can donate to our mutual aid fund.

Support Tenants' Rights at the Legislature!

Senator Linda Lopez is introducing two bills this 2025 legislative session: one to end the prohibition on rent control and another that would require landlords to provide receipts when tenants pay rent.

People's Housing Project is mobilizing with Albuquerque Teachers Federation & other orgs

We are very excited to hear about both these bills! There are upcoming actions from PHP to help support them:

Protest on Inauguration Day Monday, Jan. 20th at 2pm at Robinson Park: Join us in the housing contingent as we march to fight back against Trump’s Extreme Right, Billionaire Agenda!

People's Housing Project Press Conference: Saturday, January 25th at 11am in Santa Fe at the Roundhouse.

Please show up for these events if you are able. If you are a member in good standing who is interested in speaking at these events or supporting these bills, please email us at [email protected]

Reading Group

Our Reading Group will be starting a new book next month, Four Futures, by Peter Frase. This short but fascinating book examines possible outcomes after the inevitable fall of capitalism.

The first meeting will discuss the Introduction and chapter 1 of the book. It will take place Sunday, January 19 at 4pm at CHOMP Food Hall.

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
