In a few days, Prison Fellowship’s senior leadership team will be gathering at National Community Church’s Dream ’25 Revival in Washington, D.C. I can’t wait to see what God does through this time as we seek His face together in prayer and worship.
As followers of Jesus, we can’t schedule revival, but we can posture ourselves for it. We can pray fervently that His will be done in our lives and across our nation. At Prison Fellowship, everything we do flows from our mission to encounter Jesus with the incarcerated. It’s a ministry of presence. Amazing things are possible when the Church inside and outside prison walk in step with each other as we pursue life with God—just ask Kelli.
Kelli grew up in a small town in Oklahoma and went to a Catholic church. She had a career in cosmetology. Though she wanted to be a good mother to her son, she struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol. Her substance abuse eventually led her on a path to prison.
Behind bars, Kelli knew she was ready for a change. She met Prison Fellowship staff member Tammy Franklin and joined the Academy cohort Tammy was leading. Kelli was open to whatever the Academy could teach her about thinking and living differently. There, she met Jesus and surrendered her life to Him. She also attended Bible studies and chapel services to deepen her faith.
Last year, Kelli attended a Hope Event where Christian artist Lauren Daigle led worship. Outside volunteers came in to encounter Jesus with the women. She saw the Holy Spirit moving during the event, as women with hardened hearts began to open up to one another, hug each other, and praise God together.
If you ever get to attend a Hope Event, Kelli says, you will be forever changed.
You are going to feel joy and love and welcome. Expect to have a great time with music or the Word, and probably cookies. Everyone loves the cookies and just to feel full when you leave—joy, love, peace, contentment.

Kelli was released from prison early last year. She has faced challenges in reentry, but she is grateful for her support system. She found a job in cosmetology at her cousin’s salon. She has stayed connected with Tammy Franklin. Every month, she meets with a group of other Academy graduates to keep building up one another.
Thank you for helping us revive hope for people like Kelli. Your prayers and support make bright futures possible. We appreciate you!
Serving Him with you,
