[link removed] [[link removed]]Friend, Trump is ready to make his first strike against crucial environmental protections when he takes office in just a few days.
It’s no surprise — Big Oil helped bankroll Trump’s victory as well as far-right, climate-denying politicians around the country. Now they are set to cash in on their investment.
As wildfires rage in California, and states in the southeast are still recovering from a devastating hurricane season, the incoming Trump administration is looking to “drill, baby, drill.” And he’s repeated for months now that he’s going to do everything he can to gut the historic climate measures we passed in 2022.
The most important thing we can do right now to fight back is to build the people power of our movement for a Green New Deal.
It may seem hard, but if we spend the coming years gathering our strength, increasing our capacity for grassroots action, and bringing new people into the movement, we can be ready to take back the levers of power from the far-right and continue on the path towards a liveable future.
That’s how we beat Trump in 2020 and made major strides in the fight against climate change, and it’s how we’ll do it again now.
We hope you’re with us.
In solidarity,
Team Markey
