Hi team,

Last week we asked this community to provide input on which state we should choose for an in-depth update.

We’ve received responses from supporters all over the country — and before we close the poll, we wanted to make sure you had an opportunity to participate:

We’ll close the poll in 24 hours so our team can get to work on the deep dive.

Thanks so much,
Team AOTL

Subject: We’d like to hear from you on this

With so much of the oxygen going towards our chaotic national politics, we know it can be hard to find up-to-date, reliable, and comprehensive coverage on what’s happening on the ground in state-level fights for fair maps and redistricting reform.

But we know it’s important you have the information you need to stand up for democracy — especially with the incoming administration.

So later this month, our team is going to provide a closer look into a key state — and it’s up to this community to decide which one. Click here to cast your vote and help us decide which state we should highlight in our next in-depth analysis. → [link removed]

We’ll be looking at the current balance of power in the state legislature and upcoming elections; the state’s redistricting process, including the history of how we got to where we are today and the fairness of the current maps; and timelines of upcoming redistricting battles — and what’s at stake with them.

As you know, there is no “off season” in redistricting. Gerrymandering continues to pose a critical threat to our democracy, with opponents of fair maps actively undermining redistricting reforms, electing anti-democracy leaders, and threatening mid-decade map redraws. But you don’t always hear about it.

So don’t wait: Cast your vote right now to help us decide which key state should be featured in our next comprehensive update. → [link removed]

Thanks for your input — it matters a lot.
