Dear Friend,
Good afternoon, and welcome to our
Weekend Update.
This week, I officially signed my Oath of
Office after being sworn into my fourth term in Congress. I am
grateful for the trust the people of Pennsylvania’s Ninth District
have placed in me as I continue serving as their representative in
Washington. Over the next two years, I will work with President Trump
and our unified Republican Congress to advance commonsense solutions
that put America First and benefit all Pennsylvanians.

As we begin the work of the 119th
Congress, it was announced that I would be serving as the Chairman of
the Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight and
Investigations. I want to thank Congressman French Hill for giving me
this great opportunity.
Through this subcommittee, we’ll promote
transparency, accountability, and pro-growth policies that benefit
American families, businesses, and investors. Over the next two years,
we will focus on exposing the harmful impacts of the Biden
Administration’s failed policies while paving the way for the incoming
Trump Administration to restore economic prosperity. Click

On Friday, I visited Immanuel Christian
School in Hazleton to meet with the dedicated staff and spend time
with the students.

When financial struggles nearly forced
the school to close its doors last month, my office immediately
intervened, working alongside school leaders and the IRS to secure
Employee Retention Tax Credits that enabled the school to remain open.
The school is an important institution in Luzerne County, and I’m
pleased to have played a role in keeping its mission alive. Our
office’s goal is always to support our community in times of need, and
I’m happy that these efforts have enabled Immanuel Christian School to
reopen its doors next week. Click

Speaker.

While visiting Immanuel Christian School
this morning, we were lucky to have President Donald J. Trump say
hello to the second—and third-grade classes. Thank you, President
Trump, for taking the time to chat with these great students! I know
this will be a moment they will never forget. Click here or below to
watch this incredible moment. The kids' reaction is priceless.

It was great sitting down with Senator
Dave McCormick to discuss our legislative priorities for the 119th
Congress. Under the leadership of President-elect Trump, we’re ready
to deliver on the America-First agenda that the people voted for:
securing our border, growing our economy, promoting energy dominance,
protecting our national security, and restoring peace through
strength. Throughout this Congress, we’ll fight to improve the lives
of hardworking families across Pennsylvania and beyond.

Yesterday, I enjoyed attending the
ceremonial swearing-in for my good friend, Congressman Rob Bresnahan,
at the Luzerne County Courthouse. I have no doubt that Rob will
represent Pennsylvania’s 8th District and its residents well. I look
forward to serving alongside him in Congress as we work to advance the
America First agenda.

As the first piece of legislation
considered in this new Congress, House Republicans reaffirmed our
commitment to securing the border, addressing illegal immigration, and
keeping our communities safe.
On Tuesday, I voted for the Laken Riley
Act, an important bill that protects our communities by ensuring
illegal immigrants who commit crimes like theft, burglary, and
shoplifting—just as Laken Riley’s killer had—are detained and deported
before they can commit violent acts against Americans.
House Republicans will continue to fight
to protect our communities and put America First.

The Biden Administration’s new offshore
drilling ban is yet another attack on American Energy Dominance. This
outrageous move hurts our economy, job creation, and national security
while enriching countries like Venezuela and Russia.
While the Biden-Harris Administration has
spent four years prioritizing ideology over results, President Trump
will soon Make America Energy Dominant Again, producing clean,
affordable energy right here in the U.S. I joined the “American
Agenda” on Newsmax to discuss this. Click
here or below to watch.

Check out my “The Dom Giordano Program”
interview on TalkRadio WPHT. I discussed House Republicans'
plan to cut nearly $1 trillion in wasteful government spending while
delivering better services, the importance of securing the border and
strengthening national security, and how the incoming Trump
Administration is committed to restoring fiscal responsibility and
advancing the America First Agenda. With a unified Republican Congress
and President Trump’s leadership, we will deliver real results for the
American people. Click

Check out my “Bob Cordaro Show” interview
on WILK Newsradio. We discussed my legislative priorities for
the 119th Congress, including my new role as Chairman of the Oversight
and Investigations Subcommittee on the Financial Services Committee.
We also covered the U.S. Steel–Nippon Steel deal. Click

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE
MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Joe Biden gave his exit
interview this week with USA Today, and it was part
delusional, part fabrication, and all very incoherent. Unfortunately,
that is how you could sum up his entire term in office. Thankfully, we
are just days away from swearing in President Trump and restoring
dignity to the Oval Office.
It was part delusion, part
fabrication — and all incoherent.
Let's set the record
straight:
CLAIM: "That's why I
worked so damn hard to get Japan and the Quad worked out with India,
Japan, Australia, the United States."
FACT: The Quad was re-established in
2017 under President Trump.
CLAIM: "The interest
rate was 9% when we came into office in the beginning. It was down to
2.34% now. So I would argue that inflation was worldwide."
FACT: Biden is talking
about inflation, not interest rates, but he's still wrong — and it's a
lie he has repeatedly
told. Inflation was 1.4% when
Biden took office.
CLAIM: "I diminished
the direct conflict with major adversaries."
FACT: Biden's disastrous
foreign policy led to escalated conflict and instability around the
world — and ushering in the conditions for Russia's invasion of
Ukraine, the October 7th attack on Israel, and an unprecedented number
of U.S. embassy evacuations worldwide. It wouldn't have happened under
Trump.
CLAIM: "We increased
employment by 16 million people."
FACT: The majority of
the jobs Biden "created" were jobs from President Trump's first term
that were recovered from
the pandemic. After revisions, Biden has only created about 6.1
million jobs.
CLAIM: "I knew how
much inflation was affecting their lives..."
FACT: Biden repeatedly,
and falsely, insisted inflation
was "transitory" — until it was far too late. Meanwhile, economists
(including a former Obama-Biden treasury secretary) blame the $1.9
trillion American Rescue Plan as inflation's "original
sin."
CLAIM: "I think yes,
based on the polling that [I would have won the election]."
FACT: That isn't
even close to what the polling said, which showed Biden
was on track to lose in an historic landslide.
CLAIM: "I think if
he moves on the tax cuts of $5 trillion, I think if he moves on
dealing with increasing tariffs across the board, all they are is
increasing cost of consumers in America."
FACT: If President
Trump's successful tax cuts are not re-authorized, 207 million
American taxpayers will see an average
tax hike of 22% — while President Trump's tariffs will protect
the American worker.
CLAIM: "Wages are up."
FACT: Real average
weekly earnings are down 3% since Biden took office.
CLAIM: "It has
attracted over 11, excuse me, a trillion dollars in private sector
investment."
FACT: It's not
$1 trillion — and those aren't
actual investments.
CLAIM: "Yet
the president comes along...and says, 'It's clear. It's an invasion
from the South. All these immigrants are causing all this
problem.'"
FACT: An unprecedented
number of terrorists and criminals have entered the country through
Biden's open border as the terrorists worldwide have become
increasingly emboldened following
Biden's disastrous foreign policy.
CLAIM: "I
work like hell."
FACT: Biden has taken
more vacation than any president in modern history, spending nearly
40% of his entire presidency on vacation.
Thankfully, President Donald J. Trump's
inauguration is just a few days away. We have much work to do, but we
are ready to Make America Great Again.
I had a great afternoon at the 2025
Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg! Thank you to Mike Firestine for
showing me around and giving me a behind-the-scenes look at the
exhibition.
This week-long tradition highlights the
importance of our farmers and the agricultural community in
Pennsylvania. They work hard to keep food on our tables, and we’re
grateful for all they do. In Washington, I’ll continue to support
policies that reduce regulatory burdens, lower taxes and support our
PA farmers and producers.

I enjoyed getting in on the action and
taking the reins at the PA Farm Show’s Celebrity Feed Scurry alongside
leaders from across the state! Celebrating Pennsylvania’s hardworking
agricultural community through a bit of friendly competition is always
a highlight. Click here or below to watch.

While at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, I
joined WHP-21 CBS News to discuss the critical role of
agriculture in Pennsylvania. From lowering food costs to supporting
our farmers through better energy policies and regulatory reforms,
we’re focused on strengthening our economy and ensuring families have
access to affordable, quality food.
The PA Farm Show is always a great
reminder of how hard our farmers work to feed the nation. In Congress,
I’ll continue to advocate for solutions that benefit our great
Pennsylvania farmers. Click

Thursday was National Law Enforcement
Appreciation Day—a time to recognize the men and women in uniform who
bravely work to protect our communities and uphold the law.
As the son of a former police officer, I
want to personally thank those in the line of duty for their service
and dedication to keeping the 9th District safe.
I will always Back the Blue.

On Wednesday, Shelley and I attended a
ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda to pay tribute to the late President
Jimmy Carter. A man of character, President Carter served our nation
as a naval officer, Governor, and 39th President. His commitment to
public service leaves a lasting legacy, and our thoughts remain with
the Carter family as we remember a life well lived.

May God continue to bless our nation. I
look forward to seeing you soon,

Dan
