When I first moved to Denver in 1997, I met an up and coming brewpub owner named John Hickenlooper.

Twenty-three years later, John is running for the United States Senate in a hotly contested race against Republican Cory Gardner.

It’s critical that we beat Donald Trump in November – but that's not enough. We also must take back the Senate from Mitch McConnell to pass the progressive legislation we need to put our country back on the right track.

As both Mayor of Denver and Governor of Colorado, John put Colorado on a path toward progress. He expanded Medicaid, signed gun background checks into law, and passed bipartisan economic development legislation for rural parts of our state.

Having worked alongside John for more than 20 years, I have no doubt that he will make an excellent Senator for Colorado — but he needs our help.

Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party are prepared to spend whatever it takes to keep John from winning this election. We can't let that happen.
