We all remember what it was like after Trump won in 2016. An organized resistance sprang up almost overnight. VoteVets was a big part of that — we were running TV ads against Trump just weeks after his election.

VoteVets endorsed candidates have won literally thousands of elections since then. We stopped countless efforts to privatize the VA and slash benefits for Veterans, and we passed critical expansions of those benefits like the PACT Act. We have strong, principled leaders serving in important offices at a time when we’re going to need them most.

We spent eight years trying to prevent this from happening. But in spite of everything, here we are again. Trump is set to retake the White House in a little over a week.

The “resistance” is going to look different this time around — it has to. We’re going to have to be smarter, more efficient, and more effective to prevent the worst of what Trump intends to accomplish. And we need to look towards the future and invest in the type of candidates who can be impactful leaders post-Trump.
