After the Dobbs decision, Democratic Governors throughout the country have become the first line of defense in protecting reproductive rights and rejecting Trump abortion bans.

Now, Virginia is the only state in the South that hasn’t further restricted women’s reproductive freedom—and that is only thanks to our Democratic-held General Assembly.

But we know Republicans in Virginia, including my opponent, want to pass extreme restrictions on family planning, reproductive healthcare, contraception, and more that would rip away women’s fundamental rights because they have put them forward.

We must make sure that women in Virginia – and those from neighboring states—can get the reproductive healthcare they need—no matter who is in office. As the next Governor of Virginia, I will defend our fundamental rights – including the right to choose, the right to access IVF, and the right to contraception.
