I’m Sam Schwartz. I need to tell you about my cousin and best friend, Alex, who was killed six years ago in the Parkland shooting by a gunman with an AR-15. In 2018, my cousin and best friend, Alex Schachter, was murdered by a gunman with an AR-15 during the Parkland Shooting.

I was just 14 when the shooting happened and my world was turned upside-down. That’s why I’ve been fighting for a federal assault weapons ban for these last 6 years.

Since then I’ve met with dozens of Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill alongside other family members impacted by mass shootings.

We cried our eyes out while retelling our nightmares.

We even staged a historic 7-day sit-in at the US Capitol to make our voices heard.

After all that, Republicans still BLOCK efforts to end gun violence including the assault weapons ban.

The ONLY thing we can do to end gun violence is replace these phonies with Democrats.

That’s why I’m asking you to contribute $15 – or whatever you can spare – before midnight tonight to ensure BAWN can carry on their crucial work. With Republicans taking full control of the government, it’s never been more important that BAWN has the resources to fight back against their cruel, dangerous, anti-gun safety schemes at every turn. If just 315 grassroots gun safety champions say they’re with BAWN before midnight, they’ll have the funds to defend our gun safety progress and push back against Trump and the gun lobby’s insidious plots. Republicans are hoping that we’ll forget and move on.

They’re hoping we’ll forget about the 17 students and educators slaughtered in Parkland.

They’re hoping we’ll forget about the 19 students slaughtered in Uvalde.

They’re hoping we’ll forget about all the bloodshed, and look the other way while they BLOCK gun safety legislation and undo all the progress our movement has made.

I need your help to show these lawmakers we will NEVER forget, we will never move on, and we will never back down.

If we want to stand a chance of succeeding, it’s time to get off the sidelines and stop waiting for someone else to solve this problem. It’s up to us to KICK Republicans out of office who refuse to protect our lives. It’s up to us to DEFEAT every bloodthirsty legislator who wants more guns on our streets, and less safety for our children.
