Social Security has been in the news a lot recently, and I’ll tell you why. It’s because while the GOP threatens to make cuts to the program, the Democrats are working to protect it even further.

The new Republican majorities in Congress have already started to spout their threats against Social Security, floating cuts and changes to this vital program. On the other side of the aisle, the Democrats are supporting bills that repeal pension reductions for public servants and ensure that working families receive their hard-earned benefits.
