It's clearer than ever that we need to cancel student debt, friends.

The majority of college students who are graduating this year with student loan debt are entering into what's expected to be one of the worst job markets in our nation's history. And millions more Americans shackled with student debt are facing sudden unemployment and pay cuts, on top of everyday expenses like healthcare, rent, and mortgage payments.

In the richest country in the world, no one should go into debt for pursuing a higher education.

The current economic downfall has only exacerbated an already catastrophic crisis. And even though student loan payments are currently suspended, they will resume in September, and thousands of Americans will be forced to choose between putting food on the table or making a payment.

Ilhan has championed canceling student loan debt in Congress and has recently introduced legislation alongside Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley to cancel at least $30,000 in debt for every borrower to stave off more economic fallout. It's time for massive cancellation.
