Folks, there's been a lot of talk about how much money the Trump campaign has in the bank, so I want to help put it all into perspective and explain why we keep asking for your first donation.

Donald Trump got a three-year head start on this race -- and he's been fundraising for 2020 since the day he took office. That gave him a huge cash advantage over us -- over $150 million to be exact.

But I want to shut down the narrative that we can't catch up. We can and we are. Last month we came within a hair of catching their big-money behemoth. Take a look at these numbers:

This team of millions of grassroots supporters just like you, pitching in a few dollars at a time, kept up with Trump's money machine in April, and I think we can beat them this time around -- but only if we all pitch in.

These numbers are sending a strong message to Trump that we're going to make this election the fight of his life -- a fight we intend to win. And if you're able to pitch in anything at all today, it will go a long way towards making sure our May number is larger than his when we put them side by side next month:

And this campaign is fueled the right way: by grassroots donors, investing their hard-earned dollars for a better future for us all, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

I've seen first-hand what a scrappy, dedicated team this is, and I know we have what it takes to close this fundraising gap and show Trump the door this November.
