Weekend Reading
Hi Friend,
For over a century, AFSC has worked with people of all faiths and backgrounds for peace, justice, and human dignity. Today, our community continues this legacy—supporting immigrants facing deportation, advocating for peace in Sudan and Gaza, and more. Thank you for joining us in our efforts to create lasting change.

What immigrants need to know about their rights [link removed]
The incoming Trump administration has promised mass deportations soon after taking office. New York Times rejects AFSC ad for calling Israel’s actions “genocide” [link removed]
AFSC has canceled planned advertising with The New York Times after the paper refused to allow an ad that referred to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. “The refusal of The New York Times to run paid digital ads that call for an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza is an outrageous attempt to sidestep the truth,” said AFSC’s Joyce Ajlouny. “Palestinians and allies have been silenced and marginalized in the media for decades as these institutions choose silence over accountability.” Read more in the Guardian. TAKE ACTION
Tell Congress: Act now to end the genocide in Sudan! [link removed]
Earlier this week, the U.S. announced its determination that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had committed genocide in Sudan. Since the start of the war, AFSC has joined with peacebuilding groups around the globe urging the U.S. government to acknowledge the level of atrocities that have been committed by both the RSF and Sudanese Armed Forces. Today the U.S. must do everything in its power to peacefully bring an end to the violence. Send a message to Congress today! [link removed]
Special thanks to our monthly donors, our Partners for Peace, for their ongoing support to make all our work possible.
