Tax Big Business to WIN Affordable Social Housing

Mega-Canvass in the Central District

This Saturday, Jan. 11, 1pm
2050 S Jackson St
(Dr Blanche Lavizzo Park)
RSVP

Join us to educate voters about the upcoming Seattle Special Election on February 11th, 2025, and taxing big business to win affordable, social housing through passage of Proposition 1A!

Doorknocking is the best way to reach voters, and you will be knocking doors alongside folks who have talked to hundreds – some even thousands – of voters.  If you are new, we can start you off with an experienced partner.

We’ll start with a short training session at the beginning. We’ll talk about best practices and ways to explain to voters why we want social housing for ourselves and our neighbors.  We’ll set you up with the phone app that directs you to the voters you will contact, and that tracks our progress. Dress for the weather and bring a mobile phone. Be sure to RSVP ahead of time and include your phone number, so we can be certain to find one another.

What is Proposition 1A (formerly I-137)? Read more about the initiative.

For more events, see our Seattle DSA for YES on Prop 1A linktree!

🌹🌹 Socialist In Office Committee ANNOUNCEMENT 🌹🌹

Hey comrades! Electoral Working Group has been soliciting applications to fill our Socialist in Office Committee to help organize the first socialist in office since William H. Kingery in 1913, Shaun Scott.  Shaun will be entering the belly of the beast and face tremendous pressure to bend to the will of big business and the super-rich over the needs of working people. The Socialist in Office Committee will help act as a liaison between Seattle DSA and Shaun Scott so we can better work together to fight for pro-working class, socialist policies in Olympia!

The application for becoming a member of our SIOC is still open through this Sunday, January 12th at 11:59PM. Make sure to apply soon if you are interested! As before, whatever ideas you have for Shaun will find their home with this body and its future standing successor. We ask that all members with ideas and feedback for Shaun send them to our email at [email protected] as we’re forming this committee.

Apply to join our temporary Socialists in Office Committee here!
