We know the Democrats control the U.S. House, but we need to send more progressives to Congress to ensure policies like the Green New Deal and Medicare For All have a fighting chance.
DFA has endorsed more than 23 progressive champions running for the U.S. House, and if they are elected, our vision for an America that works for everyone will be that much more possible.
Candidates like Mondaire Jones in NY-17, will lead the fight for bold, progressive policies that benefit us all: student debt relief, Medicare-for-All, a $15 minimum wage, universal childcare, a Green New Deal, and criminal justice reform, because he knows what it means to have a parent work multiple jobs and it still not have enough to make ends meet.
Keeda Haynes in TN-5, a former Public Defender who has advocated passionately on behalf of her clients every day in the courtroom. She stood up for them in the face of a racist system that sought to dehumanize and strip them of their dignity and basic rights. Keeda has never been afraid to address the hard issues, and she refused to settle for anything less than a fair and just outcome. She will take this same relentless energy to Washington on behalf of her entire district.
Jon Hoadley in MI-6, plans to support legislation to better fund all public schools, because he lives in a district with public schools that are gravely underfunded. Jon believes it is time to put people and community back at the center of our decisions, and understands that we the people--not corporations--have the power, and we must choose us.
Mike Siegel in TX-10, a former public school teacher and civil rights lawyer with twenty years of public service, will fight for Medicare for All, ending the War on Drugs, strengthening voting rights, and implementing a Green New Deal. With our help, Mike can replace a vulnerable Republican incumbent in a district that is becoming more blue.
