Friends,

Happy New Year! I hope you are doing well. My weekly newsletter, the Week In Review, recaps the great work my team and I are doing in Washington D.C. and around Georgia's 11th District. As your Representative in Congress, it’s a priority to keep you informed of how we're serving you. If you would like to stay up to date, check out our website, and follow our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages!

Looking forward to seeing you in Georgia's 11th Congressional District or in Washington, D.C. soon.

God Bless,

Rep. Barry Loudermilk

U.S. Congressman, Georgia's Eleventh District

Beginning the 119th Congress

I recently returned to Washington to begin the 119th Congress. It has been an honor to represent Georgia's 11th Congressional District in our nation's Capitol for the past few years, and I am humbled that you've continued to put your trust in me to further the critical work of keeping our nation free, safe, and full of opportunity.

This past week, the House met to re-elect Speaker Mike Johnson, take our oaths of office, vote on the rules governing our legislative processes over the next two years, and certify the results of the 2024 election. With the Speaker and President Trump's leadership, we will continue to hold government accountable, restore transparency, and enact a strong agenda that delivers immediate results for the American people.

Our Votes This Week - Critical Legislation to Ensure Justice for Laken Riley's Family, Secure our Border, and Support Israel

During this week's House session, I supported legislation to ensure justice for Laken Riley's family, secure our border, and support Israel's right to defend itself following Hamas' brutal October 7th attacks, by requiring the President to impose sanctions against the International Criminal Court (ICC) for its recent conduct. Top bills are as follows:

  1. H.R. 29 – Laken Riley Act – Rep. Mike Collins (GA-10)
    • This Georgia-led legislation would require Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to arrest and detain illegal immigrants that have committed theft, burglary or shoplifting until they are deported. Additionally, this bill ensures states have standing to take civil action against members of the federal government that do not enforce immigration laws.
  2. H.R. 23 – Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act – Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21)
    • This legislation supports Israel in their fight against Hamas following the brutal October 7th attacks and protects American sovereignty by requiring the President to impose sanctions against ICC officials who investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute a U.S. person or our allies. Additionally, it ensures no current or future federal funding goes to the ICC.

Four Years Later: State of the FBI's Pipe Bomb Probe

The FBI still has no suspects on the January 6 Republican National Committee (RNC) and Democratic National Committee (DNC) pipe bombs, and the Democrats' former January 6 Select Committee failed to report on the many security failures surrounding the event during their 'investigation.'

That's why, as Chairman of the Committee on House Administration's Oversight Subcommittee, I worked with Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-4) from the House Judiciary Committee and released a report on the status of the FBI's pipe bomb probe. Chiefly, among other critical findings, this report highlights why the American people still deserve the truth on this important matter.

You can read more about our top findings here, and the full report in its entirety here

In The News

Rep. Loudermilk on Triggered with Donald Trump Jr.: We Must Continue to Hold the FBI Accountable for J6 Pipe Bomb Investigation

In case you missed it, this week I sat down with Donald Trump Jr for his show Triggered to discuss why the American should be questioning the FBI's decision to reengage in the January 6 pipe bomb investigation following our latest report release.

Specifically, we discussed the top key takeaways from that pipe bomb report, next steps in our investigation, and why we must continue to hold these federal agencies accountable.

Rep. Loudermilk on Rob Schmitt Tonight: Congress Will Continue Jan. 6 Probe

ICYMI: This week, I also joined Rob Schmitt Tonight on Newsmax to discuss how my investigation will continue to seek answers in the new Congress regarding any role the FBI might have played in the events of January 6, 2021.

Specifically, I highlighted the Department of Justice's (DOJ) report on the FBI's use of confidential human sources that day, and why this conduct must be thoroughly investigated.
