This year, we’re leaning into our power even more

I believe in the power of our movement and our ability to build a more just future. But don’t just take my word for it — our A-Team has made incredible progress in 2024, across so many progressive issues and policies, using the power of our office to create real, tangible change for people.

With the power of our movement – In partnership with the Biden Harris administration, we canceled student debt for almost 5 million borrowers — including 22,000 public service workers in Massachusetts. We improved healthcare access for people with disabilities and invested in women’s health and research. We made birth control available over the counter and protected Social Security.

With the power of the pen – We released a groundbreaking report on the criminalization of Black girls in schools, and we introduced 40 pieces of legislation to protect abortion rights, advance economic justice, close the racial wealth gap, and more.

Using the power of the purse – We secured $13 million in federal community project funding for Massachusetts's 7th to support housing for LGBTQ+ seniors, childcare, economic development, climate justice, and more.

Using the power of our platform – As the year came to a close, we called on President Biden to use clemency authority to change and save lives. Thanks to our advocacy, over 1,500 people were granted clemency and 37 individuals on federal death row will have their lives saved and be re-sentenced to a prison term — with more to come.

And I can’t forget the tens of thousands of constituent letters that my office answered as we worked to help our community and neighbors through impactful constituent services.

This is what it looks like when representatives put people first. As we steady ourselves to face four more years of Trump and the hurt and harm that he has in store, we need this movement and the power of our collective action more than ever. Now is the time to lean into that power. I am deeply grateful to you and everyone who made my fourth term in Congress possible. In the face of Trump 2.0 and his Project 2025 blueprint, I’ll be focused on uplifting progressive policies, calling out the harmful actions of the GOP, and pushing for legislation that protects our bodies and our freedoms.

Building on our wins from last year, I know our team can continue to make progress across the issues that matter most, and deliver relief for those in need. From book bans to closing the wealth gap and dealing with our mass incarceration crisis, our agenda is unapologetic, people-centered, and progressive. We’ve got the vision, we’ve got the team, and we need grassroots support in order to keep up our fight.
