Today is a big day for grizzly bear protections! Though grizzly bears have made a remarkable comeback over the past several decades thanks to Endangered Species Act protections, they remain vulnerable. Grizzlies occupy less than 2% of their historic range in the lower 48 states. Despite the precarious nature of their recovery, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana asked the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remove their Endangered Species Act protections. 

But, thanks to advocates like YOU, the agency stood up for grizzly bears and denied the request today! Send a comment to the Fish and Wildlife Service thanking them for keeping grizzly bears protected under the Endangered Species Act!

After two centuries of decline due to persecution and habitat loss, grizzly bears are just now beginning to rebound in the Northern Rockies. But anti-wildlife politicians have passed laws to make it easy to kill grizzlies IF Endangered Species Act protections are removed. That is why this decision is so significant and worthy of celebration! We need to keep safeguards in place until grizzly bears are fully recovered, and states have adequate regulations in place to ensure grizzly bears will thrive for future generations.
