# [#]A critical piece of tackling the climate crisis is shifting our energy investments to safe, renewable sources. That’s why I’m applauding President Biden’s decision to permanently ban new offshore oil and gas drilling across millions of acres of U.S. coastal waters.
Along with the historic investment in climate action from the Inflation Reduction Act, this move solidifies President Biden’s legacy as a bold climate champion.
But, our work to protect public health and build a sustainable future is far from over: the GOP majorities in Congress and incoming Trump administration are set on undoing our progress.
We need to show that there is still a strong grassroots movement pushing for transformative climate action. I remain committed to advancing this work in Congress – are you with me? Add your name here. [[link removed]]

Our path to a sustainable future and true energy security is not to double down on oil and gas. Banning new offshore drilling and taking a stand against the harm Big Oil has done to coastal communities is a step in the right direction, but more work lies ahead.
As a former environmental lawyer who used to work for the Environmental Protection Agency, I know we only have one planet to call home, and time is running out to preserve a livable environment for future generations.
I’ll never stop fighting for common-sense environmental and energy policies, and to protect our climate progress, but I need to know that you’re still standing with me in this fight. Sign on right away: [[link removed]]
