Well, that’s a wrap on week one of the 119th Congress!

As expected, there were some highs and lows. I was sworn in to represent Oakland County for the fourth time, and I was proud to stand alongside my Democratic colleagues as they did the same.

But we also certified the 2024 election results to prepare for a Trump transition (and while I’m not happy with the outcome, that’s just how democracy works).

There will be a lot more of these kinds of moments in the 119th Congress — both historic and chaotic. But through it all, I vow to show up every day prepared to do what’s best and right for my constituents.
