The U.S. Department of Energy just released a long-awaited report confirming what we've known all along: Exporting liquified natural gas, or LNG, endangers people, wildlife, and the climate — and it isn't in the public's interest.

Along the Gulf Coast, a massive expansion of LNG export facilities is driving up energy costs and increasing climate-killing pollution. The expansion will dredge rivers and waterways and destroy thousands of acres of wetlands and coastal habitats that imperiled species, like ocelots and Rice's whales, need to survive. It will also harm Gulf Coast communities — including many already battered by industry pollution and climate-driven storms.

In January 2024 the Department of Energy paused LNG export approvals to conduct analysis for its critical new report and update its old data on LNG. Now it's time to act on the findings, which show that LNG has no place in a safe and healthy world.

Tell Energy Sec. Jennifer Granholm to do the right thing and reject all pending LNG export permits immediately. [link removed]
