During the course of the COVID-19 outbreak in NYC, our team has delivered thousands of pieces of personal protection equipment (PPE) and supplies to area hospitals, nursing homes and long term care facilities. As time continues, the needs change weekly. Right now, our hospitals and healthcare facilities are in need of medical gowns. I’m proud to have
identified a local manufacturing operation in Brooklyn to produce disposable isolation
gowns.
Of the many things that are in need in our community, food has also been a necessity. This is why I’ve
co-sponsored weekly food drives in order to fill church pantries across the district. It’s truly remarkable to see our community come together in times of need and it’s what makes our community so great. Days ago, I spoke up after my constituents received rotten food and molded bread
pushing the city to end contracts with two vendors. Special thanks to the JCC and Project Hospitality for delivering fresh groceries and prepared food to these senior citizens.
