Hi John,
Justice Democrats has been supporting my campaign since the very beginning. So today — when we’re one month out from the primary election — I wanted to take some time to introduce myself and explain why I’m running for Congress.
My name is Jamaal Bowman. I was born and raised in New York City, and I now live in Yonkers with my wife and three children. For the past 20 years, I’ve been an educator; I spent 17 of those years in the Bronx.
Now, I’m running for Congress because I believe NY-16 deserves a representative who fights for them — not wealthy Wall Street executives.
Today, I’m hoping to get an endorsement from you, John. You are a valued member of our grassroots movement and, now that we’re just one month from the primary election, I will be looking more and more toward supporters like you to carry us to victory.
Can you add your name to endorse me to represent NY-16 in Congress?
Incumbent Representative Eliot Engel has failed to produce results for New York, voting in favor of Wall Street and prisons for the past 30 years.
I will spend my time in Congress fighting for working-class families and pushing for solutions that match the magnitude of our problems — solutions like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.
And though the people of NY-16 want change, it’s not easy work challenging an incumbent. But I know our people-centered movement is uniquely suited to take on this challenge without taking a cent from lobbyists or corporate PACs.
I’m honored to be a Justice Democrat. And I would be even more honored to receive your personal endorsement today.
I value your input and I want you on our team. Will you add your name to endorse me for Congress?
With gratitude,
Jamaal Bowman
