Standing Against the ICC's Baseless Targeting of Israel

The International Criminal Court — an unelected and unaccountable international institution — recently issued arrest warrants for Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. These arrest warrants unjustly put democratically-elected Israeli leaders in the same category as Hamas terrorists, who started this brutal war and continue to use their own people as human shields.

The warrants reflect a poisonous anti-Israel sentiment in our international institutions — not to mention they set a dangerous precedent, since the U.S. and Israel are not even members of the ICC. Because of the ICC's warrant, Prime Minister Netanyahu could be arrested for visiting Auschwitz on the anniversary of the liberation, or for attending the Munich Security Conference next month. That's absolutely shameful.

We must not be silent in the face of this injustice. That's why last Congress, as chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, I cosponsored and championed a bill to sanction ICC officials and others who support this false pretext of justice. This Congress, I joined my colleagues in re-introducing the bill, and I'm proud to say it passed the House with my support on Monday.

I now urge the Senate to pass the bill and send it to the president's desk. Where the ICC’s target is Israel today, it could be America tomorrow.

Getting to Work to Undo the Biden Admin's Border Damage

The Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies have wreaked havoc on our communities — a fact no one knows better than Texans. Far too many Americans have died from fentanyl poisonings, violent crime committed by illegal aliens, and cartel activity. Americans deserve better, and that’s what they’re going to get with Republican leadership in the House, Senate, and White House.

This week — on the first week of the 119th Congress — I joined my colleagues in introducing a slew of bills to help put a stop to the madness and finally put Americans' safety first. Those bills included:

  • The SAVE (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility) Act, to require proof of American citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections;
  • The Laken Riley Act, to require Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain any illegal alien who has been charged with or convicted of burglary, theft, larceny, or shoplifting;
  • The Protecting Our Communities from Sexual Predators Act, to ensure any illegal alien convicted of sexual assault is immediately deportable and prohibited from re-entering the country; and
  • The No Bailout for Sanctuary Cities Act, to prevent federal funds from being used to bail out sanctuary cities, including New York City, for a migrant crisis they and the Biden-Harris administration created.

As chairman emeritus and a current member of the House Homeland Security Committee, I'll never stop working to secure our border and undo the damage of the Biden-Harris administration's disastrous open border policies.

Calling Out President Biden's Leniency for Terrorists

In the wake of the horrific terrorist attack in New Orleans, the Biden administration should be devoting every available resource to rooting out terrorism. Instead, President Biden has continued exhibiting a baffling pattern of leniency toward criminals and terrorists. This week, during the dead of night, he authorized the transfer of 11 prisoners from Guantanamo Bay — the U.S. military prison that holds the world's most dangerous terrorists — to Oman, a country in the Middle East. This prisoner transfer sent a dangerous message to terrorists around the world, who celebrated the transfer of these criminals out of U.S. custody.

I will never forget my chilling experience of visiting Gitmo and seeing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed — the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks — in his cell. These monsters deserve no reprieve, and the American people deserve assurance they will be kept in Gitmo's secure environment, where they can never harm anyone ever again.

I look forward to President Trump's return to office and am confident he will project the strength needed to deter those who wish to do America harm. Click below to watch my full interview on NEWSMAX:

ICYMI: Rep. McCaul on ABC This Week

"With the fall of Afghanistan ... we are seeing a resurgence of ISIS and ISIS-K in the Khorasan region between Afghanistan and Pakistan that concerns me greatly. We know that eight ISIS individuals have entered the United States. ... So you really have two type of threats. One is operational; the other one is inspired attacks, radicalized over the internet. They're both equally lethal, and they need to be focused on to stop it."
