Hey John, I wanted to make sure you saw my team’s email about Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell trying to use the cover of COVID-19 to take rights away from workers. Mitch is leading the charge to gut workers’ rights by granting broad liability immunity to businesses who put workers in harm’s way during the COVID-19 crisis. That means workers can’t sue businesses even if those businesses were negligent in failing to implement safe working conditions. Furthermore, Mitch McConnell is insisting this demand be met before allowing any future COVID-19 relief funding. John, this mindset of protecting workers over big business is dangerous and flawed. I’m sick and tired of Mitch constantly siding with corporations over everyday Americans. I’m in this fight for working people like you. Protecting businesses from sick workers. We know! It’s awful. John -- providing broad immunity is a dangerous idea. If workers are put in harm’s way, they should be fully empowered to have their day in court. If Mitch McConnell has his way, it will become impossible for workers to hold their employers accountable for providing safe working conditions and businesses would have no responsibility in making sure workers have safe working conditions. Hank has been at the forefront of workers’ rights his whole career -- and this is no different. That’s why he’s standing up to President Trump and Mitch McConnell in demanding protections for workers’ rights. Will you join him in demanding Republicans not give immunity to corporations?
