Rep. Georgene Louis, NM House of Representatives, District 26
[[link removed]] Georgene Louis (Class of 2010) is a member of the Pueblo of Acoma. She was first elected in 2012 and is seeking a fifth term to represent House District 26 in Westside Albuquerque. She also serves as the Secretary for the National Caucus of Native American State Legislators. Georgene is a licensed attorney and has spent most of her legal career representing tribes and tribal interests. In her spare time, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Judge Brittany Maldonado Malott, Judge of the Metropolitan Court Division 10
[[link removed]] Judge Brittany Maldonado Malott serves as a Criminal Court Judge in the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court. She was appointed to the Metropolitan Court by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham after being recommended by a bi-partisan Judicial Nominating Commission. She must run in 2020 to keep her seat on the bench. Brittany was born and raised in Albuquerque. She is a first generation college graduate, graduating cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a degree in English and earning her law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law. Upon graduating from law school Brittany dedicated her entire legal career to public service, serving as a trial attorney for the Law Office of the Public Defender and prior to that as a volunteer for the Domestic Violence Resource Center and the Rape Crisis Center of Central New Mexico.
Jennifer "Jenn" Manzanares, Santa Fe County Treasurer
[[link removed]] Jennifer “Jenn” is a Native Northern New Mexican. Born and raised in the Pojoaque Valley, she graduated from Pojoaque High School and furthered her education at Northern NM Community College, where she received her AS in Criminal Justice (CJ). She continued her educational journey at the College of Santa Fe where she received her Bachelors degree in Political Science and Secondary Education with an emphasis in CJ. Jenn was recently invited to serve as the Chief Deputy Treasurer for Santa Fe County alongside Treasurer Pat Varela.
She is fortunate to collaborate with many amazing stakeholders in the community to address healthier communities. Her passion for healthier communities and families comes from her personal experience with family addiction and recovery. She has been active in her community for many years, and looks forward to continuing in the future. Jenn is the mother of 3 children JP, Andrew and Julianne. The joy and light of her life are her beautiful grandchildren Abi, Xander and Azi. Jenn enjoys making beautiful memories with her family, celebrating her deep culture, teaching her grandchildren traditions and enjoying her love of travel and adventure.
Neomi Martinez-Parra, NM State Senate, District 35
[[link removed]] Neomi Martinez-Parra lives in Lordsburg, NM with her husband, daughter and elderly mother. Professionally, she has worked as a Special Education Teacher with students that have high needs, academically and emotionally. She understands first-hand how difficult it can be for her students and their families to thrive in rural New Mexico, where opportunities and resources can be limited.
Rep. Marian Matthews, NM House of Representatives, District 27
[[link removed]] State Rep. Marian Matthews is running to represent House District 27 for a full term after being appointed to fill the remaining term of a deceased member. She is a retired lawyer, child advocate, educator and small business owner.
