Governor DeWine Appoints Werren to Stark County Court of Common Pleas, Probate Division
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced the appointment of Curt Werren to the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, Probate Division.
Werren, of North Canton, will assume office on February 21, 2025, and will be taking the seat formerly held by Judge Dixie Park, who retired. He will serve the remainder of the unfinished term and will need to run for election in November 2026 to retain the seat.
Werren began his law career in 1992 as an attorney for Day, Ketterer, Ltd., Attorneys at Law. From 2010-2013, he served as the Regional CEO and Executive Director of the American Red Cross. In 2013, Werren became a judge on the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, General Division. Since 2015, he has been serving as a judge on the Canton Municipal Court.
In 1989, Werren received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Grove City College. He earned his juris doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1992.
Werren is actively involved in numerous community and professional organizations. He serves as a board member on the Stark State College Foundation Board, SAM Center-Service to Area Military, and the Williams McKinley Presidential Library and Museum; a member of the Stark County Bar Association, Ohio Judicial College, Association of Municipal/County Court Judges of Ohio, and the Rotary Club of Canton.
