John, I’m one week into my 2nd term in Congress. I’ve never been more clear-eyed about the challenges we face, yet optimistic about the fights ahead.
This Congress will be complicated, to say the least.
I’ll explain what I mean in just a moment, but if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to read this whole email, please feel free to make a quick grassroots donation before closing out!
The 2024 election cycle was absolutely brutal, there’s no denying that.
Donald Trump and the GOP are going to have a full governing trifecta, and they’ve already told us what they want to do:
Restrict and ban abortion access, pass another massive tax break for big corporations, and… rename the Gulf of Mexico?? (I mean, I don’t care what it’s called but how about we focus on the farm bill, the budget, and actually helping people?)
The GOP won’t govern with working families in mind, but here’s why I remain hopeful:
House Republicans have the slimmest majority in nearly 100 years. That means we can still assert ourselves on critical policy decisions that will impact Americans, their families, and their pocketbooks.
It’s not what we were hoping for prior to last November, but I’ve seen what we’re capable of when we work together and look out for one another.
After all, that’s why I ran for Congress in the first place.
I could really use your back-up during my sophomore term, which is why I’m asking for your support today: Will you pitch in $10 or $25 to help us fight for our rights and hold the House GOP accountable at every turn?
I’m looking forward to embarking on this journey with you, John, and every other member of this grassroots team.
Thanks,
Morgan McGarvey
