I was proud to deliver my 7th State of the State address to the Colorado General Assembly on Thursday, doubling down on our commitment to build an affordable, safe, livable Colorado for generations to come.
We are focused on the issues Coloradans care about most, including reducing housing costs such as homeowners insurance, keeping Colorado’s vibrant communities safe and clean, strengthening Colorado’s economy, saving people money, and enhancing the Colorado way of life.
My principle remains clear and simple: I will work with anyone and everyone when it’s good for Colorado, and I will oppose anyone and everyone, and do everything in my power to protect Colorado when it hurts our people and state. |

Today more than ever, Colorado is a beacon of freedom, opportunity, and prosperity.

More Housing NowIn partnership with the legislature, we took meaningful steps last year to begin to unleash housing supply, including giving Coloradans the right to build an ADU on their own property, expanding housing near transit, removing discriminatory occupancy limits, and more.
And there is more to be done to expand access to housing that Coloradans can afford at every budget and reduce the costs of homeowners insurance, and we are looking to do this with steps including encouraging innovation in modular housing solutions, empower builders to build smart stair apartments and homes, and allow faith-based and community organizations to use land they have to build housing Colorado needs.

Improving Public SafetyNow is the time to double down on data-driven investments that we can see work to improve public safety. We have made real progress to make Colorado one of the top ten safest states, and thanks to our targeted investments crime is down in nearly every category. But there’s more work ahead.
I'm confident that, thanks to the action of the voters passing Proposition 130, we’ll be able to better fund law enforcement, with $350 million in support for hiring, retention, and training.

To make this vision into a reality, it takes all of us working together – state, regional, and local partners.
