I’m an optimist by nature, so I’ve believed for a while now that we are going to take back the Senate this fall.

Polling is starting to show this too, and now political pundits are catching on. Just take a look at this recent headline:

But when we take back the majority and defeat Donald Trump, the American people are going to have high expectations. They want to see a change in how things work in this country — especially as we try to find a path forward from the current pandemic and economic crisis.

We have the chance to meet this moment with big, bold ideas that will finally make sure this economy works for everyone — not just billionaires and corporations.

The Green New Deal is the roadmap for that. It will revolutionize how our economy works, save our planet and make sure frontline communities who have been hit hardest by climate change and the coronavirus get justice.

If we win this race and I have the honor to continue serving you in the United States Senate, it is my promise that we will pass the Green New Deal in my next term. Our country and our planet cannot afford for us not to succeed.
