Dear John,
During this time of crisis, Los Angeles residents are facing dangerous and unique challenges from the windstorms and fires devastating our region. Many in our community have been personally affected, and our hearts and thoughts are with those who have lost their homes, businesses, and who have been displaced by these catastrophic fires. These are grief-stricken, traumatic, and heartbreaking times for so many in our Fulfillment Fund community. We are deeply grateful to CAL FIRE and the Los Angeles Fire Department for risking their lives to keep us safe.
LA County service providers are working tirelessly around the clock to ensure safety and provide support—fighting fires, helping people find shelter, and offering protection from these dangerous conditions.
LAUSD has closed all schools through Friday, January 10th. Check here for the latest updates from LAUSD <[link removed]> including information on continuity of learning activities for students, meal distribution sites, and mental health support services.
With LAUSD schools and some universities closed, many of our students and families are impacted by the disruption to their education, while others are grappling with the impacts of the fires. Fulfillment Fund remains committed to supporting our students and families during this time.
As we continue to monitor the situation and new developments arise, our counselors are continuing to check in with students and families to provide resources and information.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - With LAUSD high school campuses closed, students are encouraged to reach out to our College Access team counselors to set up a virtual meeting here <[link removed]>.
COLLEGE STUDENTS - College campuses may be closed, but virtual services are still available on most campuses to support students through this time. Students are encouraged to schedule a virtual meeting with our College Success team here. <[link removed]>
