FDA Approves New, Once-a-Day CFTR Modulator for People With Cystic Fibrosis


The FDA has approved a new triple-combination modulator, Alyftrek, ([link removed])
for people with cystic fibrosis ages 6 years and older who have a mutation that is eligible for Trikafta or one of 31 rare mutations that had not been approved previously for a modulator.

Trikafta Approved for People With CF Ages 2 Years and Older With Certain Mutations

Last month,
the FDA approved the expansion of Trikafta to additional people with cystic fibrosis ages 2 years and older who have certain rare mutations ([link removed]). Although this approval affects a very small number of people, it is another important step in making sure that everyone with CF has a treatment for the underlying cause of their disease.
