I believe that every politician should trust women and their doctors to make personal health decisions — and I know the majority of Arizonans feel the same way.
But right now, due to a grossly invasive law, our state is required to publish an annual abortion report that exposes sensitive medical information for thousands of women.
I want to be clear: This is an invasive requirement that serves no medical purpose.
Starting a family — or choosing not to — is one of the most personal decisions someone can make. The government should not be involved in those conversations, or put them on display.
That’s why I’m calling for an immediate end to this outright invasion of privacy. It’s time to repeal the outdated law that requires government surveillance of pregnant women and ensure that our state laws reflect our values of trust, privacy, and respect for reproductive freedom.
