Yesterday, MAGA Colorado House Republicans attempted to block the certification of the November election results on the first day of the legislative session.
This measure only failed because Coloradans elected Democratic leadership that is focused on delivering on the most pressing issues Colorado is facing: cutting the cost of living, creating economic opportunities, helping our kids get a great education, and protecting workers and our freedoms — not spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation on the floor.
Colorado Republicans have made their priorities clear. They will use this legislative session to bring Washington DC-style fights to distract from doing the work they were elected to do, improving the lives of Coloradans in every corner of the state.
While we already have the majority, we cannot ignore this. In 2026, Colorado Democrats will challenge every Republican who undermines our democracy, puts their thumb down on Colorado workers, and blocks efforts to provide real relief to struggling families throughout our State.
We are very early in the cycle but it is critical that we begin the process of building for these elections next year.
