Check this out, here are a few pictures from the reception we had after I was sworn into the United States Senate last week:
This is me and my high school librarian. She saw something in me all those years ago, and helped me navigate the college application process.
This is my boss from the hotdog stand I worked at through high school. He let me work on my homework when it was slow, and helped me provide for my mom and my sisters at a time when we really needed it.
And these are the brothers I served with as a Marine in Iraq. It was never guaranteed that any of us would make it back, but we got each other through.
I wanted to share these pictures with you because without the people in them I would not be here today. That goes for you, too. I haven’t forgotten, and I never will.
Thank you so much for making this happen, John. I’ll do my best to make you proud.
