THEN: After polling showed Mitch in a dead heat with his opponent Democrat Amy McGrath, a McConnell-controlled super PAC reserved nearly $11 million in TV ads to attack Amy and try once again to buy Mitch's way to reelection.

AND NOW: The entire Trump family – everyone from Donald Trump Jr. and daughter-in-law Lara Trump to Donald Trump himself – is emailing and begging donors to funnel enormous sums of money into Mitch's campaign and protect the GOP's Senate majority.
