đź“° GOOD NEWS INSIDE đź“°
John: 2024 was a tumultuous year. At the International Rescue Committee, we've seen the toll that conflict, climate change and inequality have taken on refugees and displaced families around the world.
But even in challenging times, hope persists.
Thanks to compassionate supporters like you, we've made incredible progress in 2024, reaching families in Gaza, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, Afghanistan and beyond—with life changing support.
I hope you can take a few minutes to read through: Hopeful IRC stories you may have missed in 2024 >>
I wanted to share a few highlights that give us reason to remain hopeful and inspire us all, as we enter 2025:
- 💉One million doses of lifesaving vaccines: In February, we announced that one million doses of life-saving vaccines have been administered to children across Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan, thanks to the Zero-Dose Immunization Program—an incredible milestone.
- 💛Celebrating our own: An IRC psychologist in Syria was named to BBC's "Women of the Year" list, highlighting the critical work our teams do to support mental health in crisis zones.
- 💛A family reunited: The Hussaini family, who fled Afghanistan, found joy and safety together—reunited in Salt Lake City, Utah, just in time for Ramadan.

These stories reflect the power of your generosity, compassion and commitment. >>
As we face 2025 together, I hope you know that your partnership helps us respond to families in crisis and creates hope for those who need it most.
We can't say thank you enough.
