Photos of LA fires [[link removed]]Dear Friend — I’m sure you’ve seen footage of the devastating wildfires currently spreading across the Los Angeles area.

Deaths have already been reported as thousands of homes have been engulfed in flames and families are forced to evacuate with whatever they can bring with them.

We need to be absolutely clear: Wildfires like these are the face of our climate emergency.

Climate experts have warned for years now that rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, caused by greenhouse gas pollution and burning fossil fuels, will make disasters like wildfires more frequent and more powerful.

But instead of heeding these warnings, oil and gas companies have raked in record profits while throwing everything they can at lobbyists, campaign contributions, and attack ads to stop climate change legislation in its tracks and roll back environmental protections.

These wildfires are a dire reminder that we have to keep up the pressure for urgent climate action. Despite the setbacks we’ve faced, we have a moral obligation to our fellow human beings to keep fighting, to never give up, and to make good on the promise of a liveable future.
