Friend,
Today is a solemn day, a day of mourning, as we honor President Jimmy Carter and his incredible legacy.
Many of us know his story well – growing up on a peanut farm, serving in the Navy, becoming Governor, elected President, and Nobel Peace Prize winner.
His story is one of the American dream, one of humble beginnings that are the backbone of our nation, growing to have an impact around the world.
While his time in office was short, he showed us that you don’t have to be an elected official for your influence to be felt more broadly. That you can improve your community if you’re willing to do the work.
His efforts to secure peace in the Middle East, willingness to build houses for the less fortunate, to give his hands to help lift those around him up, and the simple civility he showed towards the ones around him, should be what we take away from his legacy.
As we reflect, we hope you’ll join us in finding the simple ways to be of service to those less fortunate in your community. To lift them up, to care for the people outside your immediate circle.
It’s through President Carter’s legacy we are reminded that we are only as strong as our weakest link – and it’s time for us to continue his work.
Thank you,
