Hi John,
We’re ready to hit the ground running in 2025 — starting with the release of our new toolkit: Housing for the People: How Local Governments are Building Social Housing Solutions for Public Good [[link removed]] !
Together with Local Progress Impact Lab and PolicyLink, we’ve developed this toolkit to explore social housing experiments happening across the country. Housing for the People [[link removed]] presents a history of how real estate corporations have turned our basic need into a profit model, outlines principles for social housing policies, and delves into specific case studies of housing created in the public interest.

Our vision of cohesive communities with housing options for all requires the scaffolding of many policy decisions local leaders can make today.
Housing for the People is intended to guide conversations, serve as a quick reference, and offer lessons and hope for emerging social housing proposals and movements.
Join us later this month to learn more about the toolkit and to hear from housing organizers and policymakers about how we move from a profit-driven housing model towards a system that truly meets peoples’ needs.
