Understanding Hallucinations and Delusions in Parkinson¿s
View this email in your browser

Hallucinations and delusions are common yet often misunderstood symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. While they can occur at any stage, these experiences—such as seeing, hearing, or believing things that aren’t real—are often difficult to discuss. Yet, open conversations and effective strategies can help individuals with Parkinson’s and their care partners navigate these challenges and live well.

We invite you to join us for an important webinar on Wednesday, January 15, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern Time, where we’ll explore:

  • Causes, triggers, and management strategies for hallucinations and delusions, led by Dr. Alison Dixon
  • Communication approaches for addressing these symptoms with your care team
  • The mental health impacts on individuals with Parkinson’s and their care partners, including challenges like social withdrawal or delayed medical care

You’ll also hear a powerful personal story from Nini Huang, who will share her experiences caring for two parents with Parkinson’s. Nini will discuss her mother’s episodes of delusions and the practical strategies their family uses to stay safe and connected.

This webinar offers valuable insights for people living with Parkinson’s, their care partners, and anyone interested in understanding and managing Parkinson’s psychosis.

This event is offered at no cost, thanks to the generosity of our donors. Learn more about Parkinson Canada and how you can support the Parkinson’s community at parkinson.ca.
